Apple’s SSL/TLS ‘gotofail’ bug:

Apple’s SSL/TLS ‘gotofail’ bug:

There is a very serious vulnerability in Apple’s iOS 7 and iOS 6 devices, and Safari browsers on Mac OS X where a “bad actor” could get between you and your secure information without you knowing. This is called a “man in the middle” attack, or MITM, and has terrible consequences when you think of the data protected with SSL — your banking information, email, update facebook, use your calendar, etc.

Read about it here:

So first things first: make sure you have a valid backup (using iTunes or iCloud), then update your device NOW. (**NOTE** We advise you doing an “OTA” or “Over The Air” update. If you update locally through iTunes, disable your antivirus or security software while you do it. We are getting sporadic reports of the update failing, and putting the iPhone/iPad into a boot recovery or DFU loop, which creates a larger problem. Then re-enable the antivirus or security software afterwards.)
